About Seventh-day Adventists

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream Protestant church with approximately 19 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus is coming again soon.

Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—make up one God. They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father’s will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.

When He returned to heaven following the resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.

Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.

What We Believe

Jesus

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He existed before coming to this world as a baby, lived on this earth to do good, to show humanity their greatest potential, and died to save every person without exclusion
(John 1:1-3, 14)

Salvation

We believe that salvation is offered freely to us by the sacrifice of Jesus. That everyone who chooses Jesus as Lord and Savior, and is willing to allow Him to cleanse them from a life of sin, will experience the joy of salvation now and for eternity. (Ephesians 2:8, 9)

God

We believe that God the Father and God the Son are working as a team to rescue humanity. God the Father is not an angry, vindictive moral monster. When we look at Jesus, we see the heart of the Father. (John 14:6-7)

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit impresses our hearts with truth, convicts us of right and wrong, and is the power of Christ living within every follower of Jesus. The Holy Spirit gifts every believer with the ability to turn the world upside down. (Acts 1:8; Acts 17:6)

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is God’s voice speaking to humanity. It is the primary source of truth, It gives practical wisdom for daily life, and It predicts the future with unrivaled accuracy. (2 Timothy 3:16)

The 10 Commandments

We believe that the 10 Commandments are the foundation of morality and ethics. They are simple, but complete and universal. (Exodus 20:1-17)

The Sabbath

We believe that the seventh-day Sabbath is a weekly invitation to rest, unplug, and reflect on spiritual things. It is also an opportunity to be together in community to worship Jesus Christ. (Exodus 20:8-11)

The Church

We believe that the Church is meant to be a safe place and a refuge for everyone. It is more than a building; it is a group of people following God, a place to find friendship and belonging, and a launch point for sharing the gospel and helping the local community. (Romans 12:5)

The Bigger Picture

We believe that God made the universe perfect, but through the rebellion of one angel everything changed. Instead of a perfect world, we now have suffering and death as a result of Satan. But we believe that God will destroy Satan and make our world perfect again. (Revelation 21:1-3)

The Second Coming

We believe that the coming of Jesus is one of the most anticipated events in history. It is worth waiting for and living for. It is the moment when Jesus descends from the sky and rescues those who have faithfully followed Him. (Acts 1:9-11)

Clovis SDA Church

Welcome to our church website. We are a community church not far from Shaw and Willow in Clovis.

We have a great congregation of friendly folks and we love having visitors. We worship on Saturday and keep the Sabbath holy by not doing commercial or weekday activities. We believe that is consistent with the Ten Commandments. We love reading and talking about the Bible since that is the word of God.

We look forward to your visit.
